Quota Design
The process of setting individual and team revenue targets that are challenging but achievable — balancing bottom-up territory potential analysis with top-down company revenue goals and rep capacity modelling.
Day-to-day use
Modelling quota scenarios based on territory potential and historical attainment data, running capacity analyses to determine how many reps at target quota are needed to hit the revenue plan, reviewing quota distribution fairness across territories, and managing the quota assignment and communication process.
Typical tasks
- ·Building a bottoms-up quota model from territory TAM and historical win rates
- ·analysing quota attainment distribution to identify systematically under-quota territories
- ·modelling the impact of a quota increase on expected attainment
- ·designing quota ramp schedules for new hires
Business outcome
Fair, well-calibrated quotas drive consistent attainment distribution, reduce rep turnover caused by unattainable targets, and give leadership a credible bottom-up basis for the board-level revenue plan.
